Overview Of The Flat Belly Solution/ Diet Solution Program

The Flat Belly Solution program was created by Isabel De Los Rios, a nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle coach based in New Jersey. De Los Rios says that her plan gives dieters a way to change eating habits for life, develop a long term eating strategy and not just modify the diet temporarily. The Flat Belly Solution is based on the principle of metabolic typing which categorizes dieters into three groups, each which has its own distinct dietary guidelines. Setting up the body for success is a pre-requisite for any program to actually be effective. This means that you not only have to do certain things and have certain habits that healthy people universally all have, and ditch habits that are thwarting your efforts. To prepare the body for success there are a few things you need to be aware of (this is all in the course in some detail).

You need to spend some time contemplating what exactly it is you want to achieve in regards to your health, what you want to achieve in your health- do you want to just improve it or drastically alter your current state to make yourself healthy, happy, energetic, and feel great. Knowing where your going is the map to getting there- and you can’t ask other for directions here- it’s your life, your goal, and you will have to put in the work- so make sure you know what it is your after. Everyone wants good health and energy (well being), but to tailor motivation specifically to you, you  will want to have specific goals (i.e. not waking up everyday feeling dehydrated and ill, having more energy FOR work, play, and so you can help your kids with homework, projects, etc…). 

Once you write down the goals list you will next need to visualize yourself successful at achieving them- see where things are (in relation to one of your goals at a time), then fully visualize all the components involved. Next visualize how you will overcome them. Really get that image in there. Once your prepared- reading the course materials will be cake, and the goals you made- will become folders where this information you read will be stored in the mind.

In other words, the goal is the “project” and reading the material will help you to formulate a plan to reach it, so you don’t have to know the specifics of how you will approach it just yet, just get an idea in there so your mind is prepared to receive information you read into these mental folders and can use the new information to create a blueprint specific to you- to reach your goals- in your own way- not based on anyone else. The flat belly solution (or The Diet Solution- the master program this one is in (all included in the price!) discusses the three steps that have to be followed to achieve your ideal weight. Those are (to summarize):

  • Eating in accordance with metabolic type
  • Staying within ideal calorie ranges

One of the great ways that Isabel helps you to probe your mind and to help you determine your metabolic type is to ask you a series of easy to answer but very powerful questions. Once you answer the questions your then categorized into one of three basic types: Carb, Protein, or Mixed (both). 

For every type ideal quantities of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats are required- it’s in assessing the exact formula for how much exactly that is- that makes the magic happen. This starts you down the road to focusing on the exact solution that works for you. One of the brilliant things about this program is that it’s designed not to create a template that everyone follows (steps), but rather the information is universal and the answers to the questions and assessment will give you the blueprint to “HOW” to use the information to generate your own personal plan.

Nobody can use your specific plan unless they are you and have everything the same- and that’s not likely so your plan will basically be your health DNA of a sort. This is powerful because unlike most templated processes or diets, it will actually work, and work incredibly efficiently for YOU. Your actions will be based on your needs, your goals, and your health- nobody elses! Instead of giving you a personal trainer- she shows you how to become your own! In a way this is a choose your own adventure health solution!

Your encouraged to really think about how you eat, why you eat what you do, how emotionally attached you are to certain foods, and how to rethink these things to come to the conclusion that preservative rich, sugar rich, and so called “health” foods will actually be stepping in the way of your progress. Do you really want to run uphill JUST so you can continue to eat the foods you think you like- but your body has distain for?

This program makes you think, but makes that an effortless (takes you by the hand) and fun, even intriguing experience that has motivation built right in! You are encouraged to think about how fruits and vegetables, raw nuts, boiled eggs, fruits and raw vegetables will affect you and may be the natural energy foods you REALLY want.

Your also shown the reality of the foods you may not even realize are dangerous! Hydrogenated fats are incredibly bad for you- and found in a lot of foods. You’re advised to rethink your strategy where these foods are concerned and to become aware of what foods exactly contain this useless ingredient that causes so many problems in the body. Like pouring dirt into your wash load. Foods that contain hydrogenated fats are:

  • Many crackers
  • Chips
  • Cookies
  • Cereals
  • And margarine, to name a few (she names much more in the guide)
  • Processed soy foods are also to be avoided.

You’re also given tips and suggestions such as: 

  • Although, a small glass of alcohol is permitted per week, preferably red wine, ideally alcohol should be eliminated completely
  • Two (small) cups of coffee are allowed daily but Stevia is the only recommended sweetener.
  • Keeping a food journal is optimal and will help you a great deal. 

This is a great way to help you identify which foods make you feel great, even satisfied, and which don’t, and make you feel tired, ill, or other negative side effects. This helps you to identify which foods work for YOU to make YOUR goals happen, and which ones to avoid so you don’t get in your own way or cancel out a good foods effects with a bad one. Some foods overpower the effects of others- awareness here is one of the great things this program comes with to help you reach your goals effortlessly.

When it comes to taking care of yourself it’s a good idea to know what your doing vs. taking the advice of the many programs “marketed” for “quick fix” or the next “ultimate diet drink, shake, powder, or other often unhealthy supplements” that promise the world with no exercise, nutritious diet plan, or even lifestyle plan to support the change (so you don’t end up back where you started or worse off).  

The fact is that the only diet that will truly work is one that takes on a lifestyle change. It’s not a complicated or draining experience- if you do it right, and have the right VALID information to work from. This is what the flat belly solution is all about. This is not hard, it’s about incrementally changing how you do things and eliminating bad habits that are causing the problem. You won’t have to make a list of changes overnight, but in 6 months you could see a whole new you and not remember actually having to “work” at it.  It’s also about education- learning what your doing, why your doing it, and how specifically, what your doing affects you in both the short and long term.
